Out Of My Mind

Need a new book to read? I have a book that you won’t be able to put down! It’s called “Out of My Mind” by Sharon Draper. “Out of My Mind” is a book about a girl named Melody, she hasn’t spoke all her life. She has a terrible disease that limits her on everything. She can not do simple things that we take for granted like walking, talking, or even holding herself up! Melody has to stay in a wheelchair at all times. She has to be feed, cleaned and transported by others. In the story, everyone assumes Melody is as helpless as she looks, but you (the reader) is the only person that knows differently. The truth is, Melody is smarter than all of us. She has an amazing memory so she can remember everything she learns. It is all trapped inside her head, and sometimes it makes Melody go mad trying to communicate.  Words words and more words have been circling around Melody all her life, so what does she do about it? Find out by reading this wonderfull story, by the end you will feel as close to Melody as anybody!

              Ali And The Biddies!

Between my cousins Ali Pimintel and Kristin Allen and there friend Emily Smith (also known as “Bongos” because of her amazing drumming skills), music comes to life in a very special band called Ali and the Biddies. They cover all kinds of music from songs on the radio today to classics. But this band does more than just playing music for entertainment. Recently, Ali and the Biddies performed in a concert to help raise money for our soldiers. The soldiers out there are sacrificing their lives to protect ours. To say thank you to their loyalty Ali and the Biddies played their hearts out at this benefit. They also have a song in the CD titled “Songs For Soldiers”. This band has amazing musical talent, there is no fancy computer editing, it’s just them and their love of pure music.

I have been hearing some things about one of our Celtics players, Paul Pierce. There has been talk that he is getting to old for the Celtics. Paul has proven himself to be a great player for the Celtics, however lately I have been noticing different. In the games Paul is getting physically tired towards the end so he can’t do his best. To be in NBA you have to be the best you can be at all times. Because of his age, Paul is limited on doing that. The sports network was wondering, will Paul Pierce take a stand and retire on his basketball career? Or will he stick with the Celtics for longer? My guess is that Paul will stay with the Celtics for the rest of the season and next season retire. Paul Pierce is an excellent player, and years ago saved the Celtics from ultimate failure, but sadly you can’t stop age.

Vacation At Cape Codder
Hotel!!!

The Cape Codder hotel is an amazing place to stay, it was the ultimate kickoff to our February vacation. What better way to spend your vacation with friends? So, our friends Ariel and Jackie Damery came, and their cousins Gavyn and Ian! We all have the best of times together creating new memeories that last forever. Let me tell you about this memory…..

At the Cape Codder hotel we have conjoining rooms with our friends, so it’s really convinient when we want to hang out! I would reccomend this hotel to everyone. When we got to the rooms, I felt a wave of excitement that only this hotel can bring.  I couldn’t wait to start swimming and having fun! It has an outdoor pool and an indoor pool. Both pools are heated with hot tubs! The indoor pool is my favorite because it has a huge wavepool with two waterslides! That night, we had a blast getting our stuff all ready and swimming in both pools. We ordered pizza and pasta for dinner then hung out untill it was time for bed. The next day we swam, swam and swam some more!  The waterslides were as fast as ever and the hot tubs were as soothing as ever.  The wave pool brught a thrill that completed our awesome day of swimming.  To top off our fabulous day we ate dinner at “Not Your Average Joe’s”.  I got pizza and it was so good I stuffed myself. That night we won big at the arcade earning prizes of our choice. We even went for a night swim! The next morning we packed up our bags and had a final breakfast. It was hard saying goodbye, but I knew next year would come soon enough! Music. You listen to it, some of you may play it and to some of you it may not mean much. To some of you, like me, music is life. There is a whole world of music out there and we all have different opinions about it. Between pop, rap, country, rock and many more music can match anyone’s preference. Playing music is another thing. In order to play an instrument and stick with it, you have to love what you are doing. There is a big difference between playing an instrument and playing it and loving the sound you make. I play the piano, when I play,I do it with a smile. I can’t wait to see if music speaks to you like it does to me!.
